International Day of Co-operatives was officially proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly on the centennial of the International Co-operative Alliance in 1995, and is celebrated annually on the first Saturday of July to promote awareness on co-operatives and ideals of economic efficiency, equality, international peace and solidarity.
For the year 2022, the theme of celebration is "Co-operatives build a better World". The #United Nations invites #cooperatives around the world to celebrate how the human-centred business model, inspired by the cooperative values of #solidarity, #equality, #self-help, #self-responsibility, #democracy and#equity and the ethical values of honesty, openness, and social responsibility is building a superior world order.
