"Teachers, who educate children, deserve more honor than parents, who merely gave them birth; for the latter provided mere life, while the former ensured a good life." ― Aristotle

Indeed, a teacher helps the student to acquire knowledge, skill, virtue and competence. They guide the students through their dark times to attain the light of learning and success. They are considered to be the most valuable asset for any country because they pass on the greatest wealth, i.e, education to the students. They play a pivotal role in shaping the life of an individual and making it worthy of living. To pay homage and reverence to the teachers and their contribution to the nation, September 5 is celebrated as Teacher's Day in India. This day marks the birth anniversary of the second President of India, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.  He was a great scholar, an exemplary teacher, and the recipient of the Bharat Ratna Award. After he became the President of India, some of his friends and students came to Dr. Radhakrishnan to celebrate his birthday. But he said that it would be better if 5th September is celebrated as Teachers’ Day all over India instead of celebrating his birthday. Thereafter, 5th September is celebrated as teacher's day in India since 1962 every year to regard our esteemed teachers who guide and equip us for a better future.
