“Everyone’s worried about stopping terrorism. Well, there’s really an easy way: Stop participating in it.”― Noam Chomsky

Anti-Terrorism Day is observed on May 21 every year to commemorate the death anniversary of former Prime Minister of India, Mr. Rajiv Gandhi, and spread awareness against terrorism. As Mr. Rajiv Gandhi was campaigning in Tamil Nadu, he became a victim of suicide bombing which took his life, including the lives of 14 other people. After this incident, the government under Mr. V.P. Singh decided to observe the day as Anti-Terrorism Day. Celebration of this day aims to instil the idea in the youth of the nation that terrorism is detrimental for international community and everyone should abstain from involving in any sort of terrorism.
